Anisa Varasteh

Anisa is a clinical sexologist and a registered mental health practitioner providing evidence-based interventions to help clients with a range of challenges related to sexuality and relationships, such as mismatched desire, overcoming shame, painful sex, sexual or gender identity, unfulfilling sex life and unwanted sexual behaviors, to name a few.

Anisa graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Psychology and completed a Master of Science in Medicine- Sexual and Reproductive Health from the University of Sydney. She has also studied courses in Contemporary Sexology and Gender Studies at Curtin University and Rhine-Whaal university in Germany. Anisa worked as the clinical lead of a mental health organisation and a senior counsellor for many years. She is the director of Relate Sexology and a member of the Society of Australian Sexologists and The Australian Counselling Association.

Anisa appreciates that many people find talking about sexuality difficult, therefore, creating a therapeutic relationship that allows trust and a sense of security to grow is central to her work.
